Will GTA 6 Come to PC? What Rockstar's History Says
No PC version has been announced — GTA VI launches November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Here's what Rockstar has said, how long its last two games took to reach PC, and what PC players can do now.
If you play on PC, the short answer is: not at launch, and not officially at all yet. Every Rockstar announcement since the first trailer has listed the same two platforms — "Coming 2025 to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S" in December 2023, and the same two platforms on the official site today.
What Rockstar has said
- The official site lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a "Plays best on PlayStation 5" badge.
- The 27-minute Extended Look was "captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5," and Trailer 2 was captured on PS5 too.
- The PlayStation Store listing carries the PS5 Pro Enhanced label — though Rockstar hasn't said what the Pro enhancements are.
- We found no PC statement in any of Rockstar's GTA VI posts or pages.
What history suggests
Rockstar has released its last two big games on console first:
- GTA V: PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 17, 2013, then PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 18, 2014, and PC on April 14, 2015 — 18 months and 28 days after the first release.
- Red Dead Redemption 2: PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 26, 2018, then PC on November 5, 2019 — 12 months and 10 days later.
If GTA VI followed the same pattern, a PC version would arrive somewhere in 2027 or 2028. But that's an inference from history, not information: Rockstar hasn't announced one, and the gap has varied between games.
What PC players can do now
